Until We Gather Around the Table Again

2 min read

How did five days go by THAT fast?

I’m still processing everything we lived during this retreat.

Five days of sharing something I deeply love. Five days of teaching techniques that took me years to learn, develop, struggle with, rethink and finally make my own.

And then watching your hands slowly begin to understand what, only hours before, had seemed impossible.

There were challenging moments. Tiny victories. Beautiful pieces slowly coming to life. Long stretches of complete concentration, followed by laughter that filled the room.

But when I think back on these five days, what stays with me most isn’t a particular technique or piece.

It’s the people.

And it wasn’t only what happened around our worktable.

It was all those moments we shared in between, too. The amazing food we enjoyed together. The conversations over meals. And every afternoon, putting down our tools and heading out to experience Budapest together.

Walking through the city, visiting museums, discovering beautiful places, talking, laughing, eating, and simply enjoying being together outside the workshop.

And that evening on the river… seeing Budapest glowing around us from the boat, with the lights reflecting on the Danube and the city looking almost unreal—that’s a memory I think I’ll carry with me for a very long time. ❤️

Somewhere between the stones and wire, the tools, the coffee, the amazing food, our afternoons exploring Budapest, the jokes, the conversations and that wonderful creative mess… five days simply disappeared.

Way too quickly.

And saying goodbye?

Definitely my least favorite technique of the retreat. I still haven’t mastered that one. 😅

Thank you for trusting me. For being curious. For challenging yourselves and being willing to try something even when it felt difficult. Thank you for the laughter, the conversations and the beautiful energy you brought into that room.

My heart is very full.

I hope you went home with more than new techniques and finished pieces. I hope you took home that little spark that makes you want to keep creating, keep experimenting, keep pushing yourself—and keep discovering where your own hands and imagination can take you.

And I really, really hope we find ourselves sitting around the same table again.

So… let’s do it again. ❤️

And this time, we want to plan early enough that those of you who were watching from home thinking, “I should have gone…” have plenty of time to make it happen.

(And yes… you probably should have. 🤭)

We’re already looking at dates for our next 5-Day Wire Wrapping Retreat in Budapest, and I would love to know which one works best for you:

A — April 26–30

B — May 3–7

C — May 10–14

Please leave A, B or C in the comments. If more than one works for you, you can write both.

Let’s see when we can gather around that table again. 🤗🥰

If anyone is considering this class, let me just tell you that it was worth every penny and more. Having attended the Budapest class last week I can vouch for it. Erika is a the type of artist who makes certain you level up your skills and pours her whole heart into making sure you learn new techniques which to be honest seem impossible at first, but with her guidance and the way she breaks it down into teachable chunks, you create masterpieces that at least I never thought I could do. But the class is so much more than that... you will see!!! I can't wait for the next class already - Option C is preferable :)

Thank you so much for this. It truly touched me to read your words.

Having you in the Budapest class was such a pleasure, and seeing you trust the process, take on things that felt impossible at first, and then create something you could be genuinely proud of is exactly what makes teaching so meaningful to me.

I put a lot of myself into these classes, so hearing that you felt that means more than you know. And you are absolutely right, it is about so much more than just learning techniques. I loved sharing that experience with you.

Most importantly, keep going. Keep practicing, experimenting, and challenging yourself, even when something feels beyond your reach at first. You proved…

We planned to do all these but unfortunately we had time for one project for every day, going through every minimal detail, correcting every step to learn the techniques perfectly: https://www.facebook.com/wirearttutorialsbyerika/posts/pfbid06d5LEpMmeJFVcPHmLMW3kBfkWpKwFen5B2w83HbMJ16UXSvrzEtJiUZHU7m33vswl?locale=es_LA
