First Wire Wrapping Challenge with Prize

Updated: Jul 10

I have to be honest with you....

I do not believe in talent. I will tell you why.

When I started to wire wrap in 2016, I faced many many challenges with wire wrapping, and all my work ended up in the bin. But I did not give it up. I tried it again.

Then, slowly, I started to see an improvement.

Slowly, I started to like the end result of my jewelry.

Since then, going through a long and very dedicated journey, I still end up with many pieces in the bin.

Then, I show you only the ones I like the end result.

Like Einstein said, talent does not exist...it is maybe 1% talent and 99% hard work.

During the past months I was thinking a lot about how to be useful for the wire wrapping community, for every creative mind.

I am posting this new tutorial I just finished (which was destined to be on Etsy as a payable tutorial download), BUT I decided to post it here, and it will be accessible to everyone who likes challenges.

With this challenge game, I truly believe that everyone will cross the boundaries, learn and create in a fun way.

So what is the game?

Time by time I will post a new challenging tutorial and YOU have to complete it!

I ask you to complete this tutorial, then to post a picture of your result in the comments below this post until the 15th of January 2024.

Everyone who posts a picture of the result, will enter in the raffle for a 25 USD coupon code, valid to purchase any PDF download from the shop.

Everyone who posts the result for all challenges during the year 2024, will receive a surprise gift at the beginning of the next year.

What are you waiting for?

Let's start the challenge.

I can't wait to see your results....

Update: This challenge has been closed on the 15th of January 2024. The tutorial is now available on the membership platform, or in the shop as PDF download.

I'm so thankful for all of you who joined this challenge. I loved to see how everyone created a version of this pendant. I inserted all your names in the "Wheel of Names" online application, and here we have a winner :D

Congratulations! This afternoon I will post a new challenge for the next 30 days. I hope you will all join!

Thank you for participating!

I really love your idea of a monthly challenge. Had to start a few times, since it is my first project, but I am incredible proud of my work this far.

I am confident that I will finish it in the next few days and am looking forward to participating in the febuary round and finish that one in time :)

Thank you for this great project, it is great fun and feels like becoming a cherished new hobby!

Outside of the fact that I am the world's worst photographer, I am pretty happy with my little ornament. I didn't make the bail either, as I will not be wearing it but hanging

Wow, so much weaving! I've finally finished and am very happy with my results. I used 22g copper and 28g silver plated copper, with copper and moonstone beads and a large glass bead as my focal. This is so different from anything I've done before! Thank you for making this tutorial available
